Royal Decree Law 6/2022, of March 29

The National Plan in response to the economic and social consequences of the Ukraine war has been approved.

 These are the main changes affecting consumers: 

• Reduction in electricity system charges for the period from the entry into force of the Royal Decree-Law on March 31, 2022, until December 31, 2023.
• Extension of the reduction in the Tax on the Value of Electricity Production until June 30, 2022.
• Extension of the reduced VAT rate for tariffs with contracted power below 10 kW, provided that the OMIE price exceeds 45€/MWh.

Royal Decree 6/2022 lays the groundwork for establishing general action criteria for promoters from various governmental levels - national, regional, and local - allowing for necessary reconciliation between the development of large renewable energy projects, biodiversity protection, and environmental conservation."
